Who We Are
A nonprofit organisation committed to closing the STEM gender and regional access gap in northern Ghana by empowering girls through education, mentorship, and career opportunity pathways.
A Ghana where every girl has access to STEM.
We envision a Ghana where geography and gender are no longer barriers to scientific and technological excellence, where a girl from the Northern Region has the same opportunities as any girl in Accra.
Empowering girls through STEM education and leadership.
To empower girls in underserved communities with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive in STEM fields, transforming individuals, families, and communities in the process.

From a Vision to a Movement
YELE stands for Yielding Excellence, Leadership & Empowerment - a name that reflects the Foundation's commitment to helping girls learn with confidence, lead with purpose, and transform their communities.
YELE Foundation was born from the lived experiences of a lady from northern Ghana who navigated her way into the world of technology against significant obstacles. Seeing firsthand the limited access girls had to STEM opportunities in the north, she envisioned an organization that would change this narrative.
YELE Foundation was founded by Lakyiere Alice Bagyiereyele alongside co-founders Clifford Fiannaa and Linus Tabari to ignite that spark of possibility in every girl, regardless of her background. Today, we are building a movement that empowers young women to become the next generation of scientists, engineers, innovators, and leaders.
